Job Description

Cavalier Logistics, a premier provider of global transportation, warehousing and logistics services, is currently seeking a entry level, full-time Import/Export Agent to join our team near Atlanta, Georgia. This position entails assisting the Import Brokerage desk as well as the Ocean Export desk in all aspect from start to finish.

Job Duties:
Agent must have the ability to work with airlines and steam ship companies and communicate with overseas agents.

Import Duties:
Handling files from start to finish
Communication with US Customs, importers, agents and vendors both domestically and internationally
Quoting import moves both air and ocean
Assisting customers in properly classifying their product
Filing customs entries
Paying ACH statements
Handling petty cash book
Invoicing and billing
Assist the Import Brokerage department with other duties as needed
Track and trace shipments and update customers

Export Duties:
Handling files from start to finish
Communicating with exporters, agents and vendors both domestically and internationally
Quoting both LCL and FCL ocean shipments
Booking ocean shipments
Creating documents for international ocean export
Filing FMC rates
Invoicing/billing
Assist the Ocean Export department with other duties as needed
Track and trace shipments and update customers

Required Skills

Desired Skills/Experience: Proficient in Microsoft office.

1-2 years import brokerage preferred but willing to train if no prior experience
Familiarity with airlines and steamship companies
Good verbal and written communication skills
Bi-Lingual a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office is essential

High School diploma or equivalent
